What do you mean “You Don’t Have a Social Media Marketing Strategy?” I know that this may sound like a dumb question in this day and age but there are a lot of businesses’ that still don’t have any kind of Social Media Marketing Strategy? How do I know? Because I ask and because I can tell. Your content says it all. That’ right! It shows. There is no consistency in your messaging, there is no story being told, no education taking place, or discussion of your product and/or service. After following you for months, and reading over 100 pieces of your content, I still may not know what you do or how your business can help me.
Having a solid social media marketing ensures that every post or blog post you create is working towards a goal or goals you have set. More importantly, anyone who lands on your content can figure out what you do in two seconds or less. That’s right! People are scrolling through feeds like the world is going to end today. So your content needs to be on point and providing solutions to your target audience otherwise they are moving on to the ones that do. The following have been taken into consideration and the who, what, why and where are being addressed:
- Goals of social media marketing– what are they? Attract customers? Build brand recognition? What are they?
- Desired target audience – Who are they?
- The intention of your content – educate, engage, delight end entertain your target market – What?
- Social Media Networks – Where are they? You should be where your audience is hanging out. Are they on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat or maybe they are not even on social to hear your messaging? Yup! There’s that too.
Do you get where I am going with this? It can be difficult to achieve results with social media marketing if you are not clear on the points I just mentioned. You are just creating endless content and wondering why you are not getting the desired results and that’s frustrating to anyone. Social Media Marketing does get results but you have to start with a clear definition of why you are on social. With a solid strategy in place, you can be intentional with the content you are creating as you work your strategy and not just posting daily with the hopes someone will get your message.
So, I ask again, do you have a social media marketing strategy! If you don’t, we can help! Contact us today at email@example.com before you create another piece of content. Remember that “hope” is never any kind of Marketing Strategy that will deliver established goals.
